Learning by listening

A great post by homewardboundragamiffin that shows us there is still a long way to go. I love the way we are all challenged to listen and not patronise.


I’ve done a lot of listening this weekend to some friends whose experiences and observations about faith, the church and disability have taught me so much.

I really do think that if we want to see a radical change in the way that people with disabilities are perceived and treated by those who call themselves ‘followers of Christ’- we need to start by learning to listen.

And as we listen, we will learn…

So many people don’t know where or how to begin making their church a truly inclusive place to be…

Have they considered asking?

So many people are quick to jump straight into ‘the issues’ as they perceive them, the obstacles and maybe even their own well-intentioned solutions…
